A story of origin...

Lido Isle
Lido Isle

When I decided to give Substack a try in the fall of 2023, I named my newsletter LidoMeHome. My husband and I had moved our family to Lido Isle in Newport Beach, where he grew up, and it truly felt like we were home. Here is an excerpt from my first Substack newsletter, to give you an idea of how I got started writing this blog. My goal today remains unchanged - to provide insightful recommendations, valuable resources, and guidance to help you create a home you truly love.

One of the questions I’ve been fielding lately has been what is LidoMeHome?  What does it mean?  What’s it for?  So, I thought I’d share the story of origin for inquiring minds, and as a welcome to the newsletter for those who are new.

Several years ago my husband and I realized we were ready for a change. Actually a few of them. We had been in the same town since college, were raising our kids there, and he had been working in a stressful career for decades. We were beginning to think that a move would be better for our family and were drawn to the beautiful little community where he grew up; after a lot of thought, hard work, and a little luck we did it. We both made career changes as well - he decided to go into real estate and I started writing about homes (real estate listings to be exact) instead of decorating them, which I had done for about 15 years through my design business, Coberly Home. People still kept asking me for help designing their spaces and when I discovered Substack, LidoMeHome was born.

I’m here to share what I’ve learned as an interior designer, provide suggestions for your space, offer my favorite sources, maybe even help you find a coveted fabric or a handmade lampshade - anything that helps you create a home you love.

So, a very warm welcome to LidoMeHome!  Thank you for reading, I’m glad you’re here.

Hey there, here I am trying to look casual.
