A story of origin...
One of the questions I’ve been fielding lately has been what is LidoMeHome? What does it mean? What’s it for? So, I thought I’d share the story of origin for inquiring minds, and as a welcome to the newsletter for those who are new.
Several years ago my husband and I realized we were ready for a change. Actually a few of them. We had been in the same town since college, were raising our kids there, and he had been working in a stressful career for decades. We were beginning to think that a move would be better for our family and were drawn to the beautiful little community where he grew up; after a lot of thought, hard work, and a little luck we did it. We both made career changes as well - he decided to go into real estate and I started writing about homes (real estate listings to be exact) instead of decorating them, which I had done for about 15 years through my design business, Coberly Home. People still kept asking me for help designing their spaces and when I discovered Substack, LidoMeHome was born.
I’m here to share what I’ve learned as an interior designer, provide suggestions for your space, offer my favorite sources, maybe even help you find a coveted fabric or a handmade lampshade - anything that helps you create a home you love.
So, a very warm welcome to LidoMeHome! Thank you for reading, I’m glad you’re here.
p.s. Substack is a fun place to get inspired! Here are a few Substacks I’ve been reading lately:
Wesley Verhoeve – photography
Chapin - A Sourdough Story
Gillian Orr – Slouching Towards Bethnal Green – from the former EIC of Refinery29, UK
